Reason for recent overcrowd in PAT

.There are 2 bridge cranes broken which will complete repairing until mid of June in one of 7 berths in PAT,BBK. Besides, one bridge crane in another berth need to replace the cable, which results serious operational capability shortage.

.All kinds of holidays in Thailand were relatively concentrated in late April, lots of imported goods have to be had customs clearance and delivered locally after these holidays. Moreover, the storage yard in PAT is not big, which effect operational efficiency of port discharging.

.As an inland port, too many 300TEU vessels berth in PAT, it will see a little peak for imported goods to BKK after Songkran Festival. Meantime, the peak time of fruit export from BKK led to throughput increase, worse yet, lots of vessels were waiting in open seas area.

.During these period, many people chose to ship to BKK via Laem Chabang, which led to Laem Chabang’s jam indirectly.
